Speed Limit to be Reduced on Section of Route 44 in Lycoming County

Montoursville -PennDOT is announcing that the speed limit will be reduced on a section of Route 44 in Watson Township, Lycoming County.
The existing 55 mph speed limit on Route 44 will be reduced to 45 mph starting just south of the Venture Inn and continuing north to the existing 45 mph speed limit south of the Route 973 intersection.
Motorists in Lycoming County are advised to be alert for and obey the reduced speed limits. The change will take effect once the signs are posted.
The lower speed limit is being implemented based on findings of a traffic safety conducted in the area.
