More Flood Recovery Work Begins at Numerous Sullivan County Sites

Montoursville - Two more emergency contracts for flood recovery work on state routes in Sullivan County are getting started this week.

One contract, for $557,728 to Popple Construction, Inc. will involve emergency repairs at ten sites along Route 87 and two sections along Route 220. The work includes repairs to the roadway and shoulders, rock placement, drainage improvements, debris and deposition removal, resurfacing, guiderail installation and related work in Hillsgrove, Forks, Cherry, Laporte and Colley townships, and Dushore Borough.

Work under this contract is scheduled for completion by Dec. 2.

Another emergency contract in Sullivan County, for $1,030,910 to Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. will address flood recovery efforts along Route 2002 (Nordmont Road), Route 2003 (Nordmont Road), Route 2006 (Hunters Road) and Route 2008 (Christian Camp Road) in Davidson and Laporte townships. The work will include roadway reconstruction, embankment reconstruction, rock placement, shoulder and ditch repairs and gabion wall repairs.

Work under this contract is scheduled for completion by Dec. 9.
