Montoursville - The new bridge built on Route 118 in Franklin Township, two miles east of Lairdsville in Lycoming County will be placed into service today as the contractor switches traffic over from the temporary bridge in the work zone.
Meanwhile, the detour for Bald Eagle Road, which intersects Route 118 just off the bridge, will be reinstated today. The Bald Eagle Road detour will be in place for about three weeks while the contractor removes the temporary roadway and bridge.
Motorists are advised to be alert for the changing traffic patterns today.
Nestlerode Contracting Co. Inc. is the prime contractor for this $2 million bridge replacement project. The previous bridge over Little Muncy Creek was replaced on the existing alignment.
