New Camp Lavigne Road Bridge Opens; Detour Lifted

Montoursville - A bridge replacement project on State Route 4049 (Camp Lavigne Road) in Sugarloaf Township, Columbia County opened to traffic late last week.

The detour has been lifted.

Prime contractor Nestlerode Contracting Co., Inc. replaced the previous bridge over Coles Creek on the existing alignment, just off the intersection with Route 487.

Some paving work remains on the project, but it will be done under traffic.

The bridge was replaced under a $911,000 contract.
