Identity Theft, Burglaries Reported in Lycoming County
Identity Theft, Burglaries Reported in Lycoming County – PSP Montoursville say numerous reports involving identity theft and burglaries occurred in August and September, including:
• On Aug. 25, an individual obtained the debit card information belonging to Worthington Acres Alpacas on Salem Schoolhouse Road in Unityville. Trooper James Doane said the card was used to make a fraudulent concert ticket purchase for $662.26 as well as an attempt to make a second purchase for over $600.
• On Aug. 12, the personal information of Ken Baier of Limestone Twp. was obtained and used to open a Bank of America account. The actor then attempted to transfer $4,000 from Baier’s current account into the fraudulent one, Trooper Doane said. The investigation continues.
• During a two-day period, from Sept. 16-18, an individual broke the windows on the motorhomes belonging to Jonathan L. Geise and Thomas M. Gehret of Susquehanna Twp. The motorhomes were parked in the area of East Waterfront and River roads. Once inside Geise’s motorhome, the burglar damaged numerous items then fled the scene, Trooper Gary Beadle said.
• On Sunday, Aug. 14, around 5 a.m., a physical altercation occurred between three people on South Pine Run Road, Woodward Twp. Thomas W. MCGee, 49, of Lopez, Clair Getgen Jr., 60, of Linden, and Jeffrey Koch, 58, of Lock Haven were involved in the altercation. Trooper Doane said it is alleged that one victim’s medications were also taken from his truck while at the altercation scene.
• On Sept. 9, a package was removed from the front porch of Nicholas Lomison on Willow Street in Hughesville. The package contained a TD05-20G Tubo charger unit for various automotive engines, Trooper Doane said. Anyone with information is asked to contact 570.368.5700.
• On Sept. 17, between the hours of 4:30 p.m. and 10 a.m., an individual entered the Norm Hicks Auto World car lot, 2610 Lycoming Creek Road, Williamsport. Trooper Doebler said once on the lot, the individual entered the unlocked gold 1999 Chevrolet Lumina 4D, no registration displayed, with the key left in the ignition, then fled with the car from the lot. Investigations continue.
Crews from local fire departments and emergency personnel responded to the following incidents on Tuesday, Sept. 20:
• 7:50 a.m., stove fire, 901 Almond St., Williamsport; city Bureau of Fire and SHS EMS dispatched.
• 10:47 a.m., fire alarm, 990 Hagan Way, Williamsport; city Bureau of Fire attended.
• 11:10 a.m., rescue assignment, 601 Locust St., Jersey Shore; Independent Hose, Citizens Hose and JS Area EMS responded.
Monday, Sept. 19:
• 8:36 a.m., fire alarm, 20 S. Main St., Montgomery; borough dispatched.
• 9:50 a.m., smoke showing, 500 Main St., Laporte, Sullivan County; Mildred, Eagles Mere, Dushore and Laporte responded.
• 10:22 a.m., vehicle accident, intersection of Hugh and Hepburn streets, Williamsport; city Bureau of Fire.
• 2:53 p.m., fire alarm, 66 Mall Parkway, Muncy Twp., township dispatched.
