TODAY’S LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP DELAYED
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (Aug. 28, 2011) – Today's Little League Baseball World Series Championship Game, scheduled for a noon start, will not begin until later in the afternoon, it was announced by Little League International.
“We will start the game at 3 p.m. Eastern U.S. time,” Lance Van Auken, Vice President of Communications, said. “Of course, it all depends upon the end of rain from the remnants of Hurricane Irene. The surface at Howard J. Lamade Stadium will then be evaluated, and we will make a decision on the start time.”
Ocean View Little League from Huntington Beach, Calif., the United States Champion, is scheduled to play International Region Champion, Japan, represented by Hamamatsu Minami Little League, at Lamade Stadium for the 2011 Little League Baseball World Series Championship.
The game is scheduled to be televised live on ABC.
Little League International will continue provide updates as warranted.
