Six-vehicle crash in Clinton County

Six-vehicle crash in Clinton County – PSP Lamar report a six-vehicle crash with injuries sustained by several of the occupants on Thursday, July 28. Trooper Joseph M. Cavanaugh saidfive of the vehicles were stopped or in the process of stopping for two crashes that had blocked Route 80 during a heavy rain downpour. The accident occurred as Alfred Tumundo, 51, of Jackson Heights, New York rounded the curve in the roadway at an excessive rate of speed. Tumundo then struck the five vehicles then jack-knifed the cargo box trailer he was operating, blocking the roadway with the vehicles he struck shortly before 4 p.m. in Greene Township.

Crews from local fire departments and emergency vehicles responded to the following incidents on Thursday, July 28:
•    12:47 p.m., brush fire, area of Antes Fort Main Street and South Route 44 highway, Nippenose Township; Antes Fort responded.
•    2:45 p.m., vehicle accident, intersection of Lycoming Mall Drive and Old Cement Road, Fairfield Township; Montoursville and SHS EMS responded.
