Two Authors Spotlighted at Otto's Bookstore
On First Friday in July, Otto’s book store will host two guest authors. Connie Hatch will be signing her book, Sullivan County. Little-known villages, some now ghost towns since their principle industry dried up, are pictured and described in her book. Have you ever heard of Azilum, proposed home of French Royalists during the French Revolution? Or Celestia, a settlement of believers awaiting the soon-to-come end of the world? (The founder willed his land to God, but after he died and God didn't pay the taxes, the county auctioned it off.)
The other author, Bob Ford, comes from Clearfield County and he loves God and beagles in almost equal measure. He's a Methodist minister who loves "the sound of a pack of beagles chasing rabbits on morning dew in a foggy valley." He writes a monthly column for "Better Beagling Magazine." His book is Beagle Tales but it could easily be called "Surviving Church Meetings." Humor about his job, wisdom-especially about raising and hunting with beagles, and a love of the outdoors should win over a lot of readers. Come meet Bob and Connie, Friday, July 1, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Otto's, a booklover's paradise in the heart of downtown Williamsport—107 West Fourth Street.
