Watson Township Zoning Hearing Board to Finalize Decision on Tombs Run this Friday
The final deciding meeting of the Watson Township Zoning Hearing Board vs. Pennsylvania General Energy is scheduled for Friday, June 17. This final meeting proposes PGE to buy the Trading Post at Tombs Run for use as a water truck unloading and pumping site
.
The site currently contains a mobile home court, a school bus stop, a residence directly across the road, and 10 roads, including driveways to residences coming together at that location, increasing water truck traffic on Route 44 between Route 220 and Tombs Run. This area is a distance of roughly six miles, which section includes Torbert Village and its nearly 40 homes).
The meeting is at the Wheeland Center in Jersey Shore at the top of Locust Street just past the town cemetery and across from the Citizens Hose Company.
Additionally, a poll of those present during the meeting will be taken to count how many are against and how many for the proposal, so public presence and vote could influence the board's decision.
A huge turnout and statement of “no” to the proposal could also help assure that, if the proposal is voted down by the Zoning Hearing Board but an appeal is made by PGE to the Lycoming County Court of Common Pleas, that the judge there will maintain the Board's decision.
Encourage those you know who would be against this proposal, and strongly urge them to attend the meeting.
