Bonnie Katz: Lycoming County Candidate for Office

March 28, 2011

Bonnie Katz has announced she is a candidate for public office in an upcoming Lycoming County election. Katz has provided NorthcentralPA.com with the following information:

State your party affiliation and which office you seek. Who is in this office at present and what is their party affiliation?
I am a Repulican Candidate for a seat on City Council of Williamsport, PA

What are your professional qualifications for the office you seek?

I have owned a business in downtown Williamsport for the last 10 years. I have worked on many committees for the improvement of Williamsport and am presently on the Mayor's Advisory Committee.

Why should voters put you in office? What reforms or improvements are you planning?
I believe that City Council answers only to the taxpayers of Williamsport. I plan on implementing a program of Fiscal Responsibility and Transparency.

List and explain three tasks you hope to accomplish while in office.
1. Crime - Our police need the latest technology to fight crime. I support Cameras as a deterrent to crime.
2. Cooperation - All city agencies must work together and put aside personal agendas. I support grant programs with County, State and Federal Agencies to benefit Williamsport.
3. Fiscal Responsibility - I will look to find ways to increase the city tax revenues and not raise property taxes as the "easy way" out.

Who is your current employer and what is your occupation? What companies or businesses do you own?
I am the owner of Le Chocolat, 420 Pine Street, Williamsport, PA 17701
