Careless Driving Under Investigation in Muncy Creek Township
Careless Driving Under Investigation in Muncy Creek Township – PSP Montoursville continue investigating an act of careless driving that damaged property on East Penn Street around 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 20 in Muncy, investigator Douglass E. Hoffman said. As the driver was traveling east near the intersection of Penncrest Drive, the motorist apparently missed the turn and passed the intersection before deciding to depart from the eastbound land. The driver crossed the westbound lane and entered the front yard of 1199 East Penn Street. After entering the private property, the driver continued in an arch back toward and re-entered the roadway onto Penncrest Drive. Prior to entering the road, the vehicle struck two bushes, an exterior light and several areas of rocks that were used as landscaping. It appears that the vehicle continued north on Penncrest Drive, Hoffman said, before fleeing the scene. Hoffman said the unknown make of the vehicle had damage to its front and undercarriage from the rocks and shrubs that it hit. Additionally, the vehicle passed under a low-hanging tree without damaging it, so police believe the vehicle is probably a small sedan-coupe style of car. Anyone with information relating to this incident should contact Trooper Douglass Hoffman at 570.368.5700.
