Daughter Steals Parents’ Credit Cards – PSP Montoursville arrested a 28-year-old Clinton Township woman who stole her parents’ credit cards and used one of the cards at the Days Inn hotel without their permission. Trooper Jeffrey A. Vilello said Jennifer Kay Michael stole the credit cards belonging to Clifford Byron Cole, 59, and Penelope Sue Cole, 54, on Wednesday, March 9, between 8-10 p.m. Vilello said Michael was arrested the following day and found in possession of several empty packets used to package heroin.  She was charged with access device fraud, theft by unlawful taking and disposition and possession of drug paraphernalia. Michael was arraigned in front of District Judge McRae and committed to the Lycoming County prison in lieu of bail.

Underage Booze Party Busted – Following an anonymous call to the
Underage Drinking hotline, PSP Montoursville responded to Jake Wenner
Lane in Bastress Township on Sunday, March 13, around 11:30 p.m. Police
observed approximately 55 to 60 underage juveniles fleeing from the
scene, and noted that a large group of individuals in the house appeared
to be under the influence of alcoholic beverages. Large quantities of
beer and liquor were reported throughout the residence. A PSP helicopter
and Life Flight patrolled the area due to individuals running into the
woods, Trooper James R. Doane Jr. said. Approximately 6-8 individuals
that ran into the cold woods returned and were checked by EMTs due to
the weather conditions. Doane said the incident remains under
investigation with charges pending.

Williamsport Man Jailed After Third Arrest – PSP Williamsport arrested a 34-year-old Williamsport man for retail theft at Giant Food Store last week. Trooper Paul McGee said further investigation involving Matthew Bittenbender revealed that it was his third arrest for retail theft, making it a felony crime. The third arrest occurred on March 11, shortly before 1 p.m. at the Loyalsock Township business. Bittenbender was arraigned before District Judge Page and committed to the Lycoming County Prison on $10,000 bail.

Waller Found in Roadside Cooler on Route 220 – PSP Montoursville reports a wallet along with other items were found inside a blue 16-quart Igloo cooler in Piatt Township. Trooper Douglass Hoffman said the cooler was discovered at the intersection of Route 220 and Route 287 on Sunday, March 13, around 12:47 p.m. Many attempts were made to contact Duane R. Harman, 26, of Muncy, whose personal identification was found in the wallet, with no results. The property was entered into the property locker at PSP Montoursville in accordance with Department Regulations, Hoffman said.

Washington Township Harassment – PSP Montoursville responded to 15518 Route 44, Washington Township on Saturday, March 12 following a report of harassment. Around 5:45 p.m., Lori Zipf, 51, of Williamsport, grabbed the arm of Sally Weaver, 57, of Allenwood and threatened to strike her, Trooper Michael G. Shipman III said.

Motel Reports Thefts – Investigations continue by PSP Montoursville into a theft at a Clinton Township motel. Trooper Jeffrey A. Vilello said the Northwood Motel, Route 15, reports that on Saturday, March 12, a woman stole a blanket and two pillows from a motel room.

No Injuries Reported in Two-Vehicle Crash – PSP Montoursville say all drivers and their passengers were not injured in a two-car collision that occurred on Friday, Feb. 18, around 5:15 p.m. Investigator James. R. Doane Jr. said the crash occurred as Joshua J. Pepe, 23, of Benton was traveling southbound on Route 405 east of Armstrong Road in a 1990 Buick Electra Park Avenue. Pepe, who was hauling three male juveniles, pulled off along the west shoulder to make a “U-turn” and travel northbound as he was en route to the Lycoming Mall. While making the turn, the vehicle was impacted in the front end by a 2005 Dodge Dakota, operated by Richard D. Gavitt, 66, of Muncy, which was also south bound on Route 405. Gavitt went into the opposing travel lane in an attempt to avoid impact but caught the Buick with its passenger side rear. All individuals in both vehicles, including Deborah A. Moore, 52, Gavitt’s passenger, were wearing seatbelts. The front seat passenger in Pepe’s vehicle was transported for observation to the Muncy Valley Hospital. Pepe was cited in the collision.

Williamsport Man Charged with DUI, Drug Possession and Traffic Offenses – PSP Montoursville reports that charges were filed with District Magistrate James Carn on Wednesday, Feb. 23, following a traffic stop on Edwin Street, in Williamsport. Corporal LaRue C. Stelene stopped Elliot Elias Cruz, 21, of Williamsport, who was driving a Ford Focus and failed to display a turn signed when traveling from West Fourth Street eastbound to Campbell Street northbound. Cruz was found to be in possession of a bag of marijuana and a digital scale. He was suspected of DUI and transported to the Williamsport Hospital where he consented to a blood draw. Results showed that he was under the influence of marijuana at the time of the traffic stop. A search warrant was obtained and his vehicle was searched, which revealed that Cruz had been transporting a second bag of marijuana, Stelene said. He was charged with DUI, Possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia, and traffic offenses.

•    4;42 p.m., structure fire, Centre County; Beech Creek/Blanchard responded.
•    6:27 p.m., water problem, 10 Gap Road, Washington Township; Washington Township/Elimsport responded.
•    8:24 p.m., electrical fire, 26 Heatherbrooke Estates, Muncy Creek Township; Clarkstown, Muncy and Muncy Township dispatched.
