Smooth jazz gem is reissued as a download album

Many people know Aviva Maloney as part of the band backing ex-Monkee Davy Jones. Based in Los Angeles, she has been part The Monkees' organization since the late eighties. Known as "the first girl Monkee," she performs on saxophone, flute, keyboards, and vocals (playing Sax Gourmet instruments exclusively).

In 1998 she released a critically acclaimed solo album, "Reed My Mind." The compact disc has been out of print for a few years, but "by popular demand," it has been reissued as a download album on iTunes http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/reed-my-mind/id405571494 and other online stores.

"Reed My Mind" is in the "smooth jazz" format and features (what critics call) "her soulful and rhythmic sax sound that is uniquely hers." X Factor.com wrote, "Aviva is one of the most exciting players in the jazz sax world. Her personality adds to the mix, and watching her play live is an unforgettable experience." "Reed My Mind" is backed by Aviva's musician friends Wayne Avers (Monkees, Micky Dolenz), Gary Brown (Steve Winwood Band), Loralee Christensen and Melisa Kary (Starship), David Jenkins (Pablo Cruise), Robin Sylvester (Ratdog), and producer Kincaid Miller (Marty Balin, Pablo Cruise, Monkees). The song "Secret Love" continues to get airplay and was written by Alex Call, (songwriter for Huey Lewis&the News, and Tommy Tutone).
Aviva has performed around the world and formerly worked with Big Brother and the Holding Company and two Jefferson Starship spinoffs: Marty Balin ("Miracles") and Craig Chaquico. Following shows with ex-Monkee Peter Tork in the early nineties, Aviva joined the Davy Jones Band and has recorded and toured with him ever since. She also toured on the 1996-97 Monkees 30th Anniversary Tour and the 2001-02 Monkees tours. She has also appeared on The Tonight Show, The Today Show, The CBS Morning Show, Regis and Kelly Show, Access Hollywood, and Miss Teen U.S.A.
