SEDA-COG offers seminar on government contracting opportunities
WILLIAMSPORT -- Companies seeking to sell their products and services to the government are invited to attend a special half-day seminar in Williamsport on Monday, August 30. Introduction to Government Contracting will be held at IMC, One College Avenue. There is no cost to attend.
Information will be presented by the SEDA-COG Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC). For over 25 years SEDA-COG has assisted small and large companies in obtaining government contracts. It currently has clients in the 11 Central Pennsylvania counties served by SEDA-COG as well as seven south-central counties ─ Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, and York counties.
According to Robert Brown, Director of the SEDA-COG PTAC, “The federal government is a $523 billion market. That means opportunities for companies of all sizes, either through prime contracts or subcontracts. We can also help companies market their goods and services to state and local governments.”
Among topics to be discussed at Introduction to Government Contracting are:
• Getting started in government contacting
• Government purchasing processes and procedures
• Locating bidding opportunities
• How to read a solicitation
• How to submit a bid
• Valuable Internet resources
• Small business programs
• Certification and registration requirements
Special opportunities for minority-, veteran-, and women-owned businesses will also be presented.
Introduction to Government Contracting will begin at 9:00 a.m., with registration at 8:30. While there is no cost to attend, space is limited, and pre-registration is required.
