Evangelical Hospital offers mammograms August 13 and 27

LEWISBURG -- Evangelical Community Hospital's Community Health Education department and The Thyra M. Humphreys Center for Breast Health will be offering mammograms for uninsured or underinsured women. The screenings will be held on Friday, August 13 and Friday, August 27 from 1-5 p.m., and appointments are required. The funding for this mammogram screening has been made possible through a grant from the Northeastern Pennsylvania Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

"When it comes to breast cancer, the best protection is early detection," Andrea Bertram, Director of the Center for Breast Health, said. "Self-exams are encouraged, but a regular mammogram can detect breast cancer long before you can feel it," she added.
