Our Last Chance

March 2, 2010

For months, the historic push for federal action on clean energy and global warming has been stalled in the Senate -- but that's about to change. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has given legislators two weeks to draft clean energy legislation that repowers our economy with clean energy jobs, tackles global warming and reduces our dependence on foreign oil.

We know the coal and oil industry lobbyists will urge Sens. Bob Casey and Arlen Specter to delay the bill, but will the senators hear from you?

Click here to get the Senators' numbers, a quick script about clean energy, and a place where you can report your call.  http://www.pennenvironment.org/action/global-warming/72hours?id4=ES

You aren't alone. Over the next 72 hours dozens of organizations, representing millions of Americans, will ask their members to make the same exact call. People across the country will ask the Senate to stand up to coal and oil companies, and pass clean energy and global warming legislation that will jumpstart our economy, foster innovation in clean energy technologies, and create millions of jobs.

We can overcome the polluters' reign if enough people join us to demand the Senate passes legislation to repower our economy with clean energy and stop global warming.

While the Senate stalls, China is moving forward and investing billions in new green technology. America can be the leader in the new energy economy, but only if the Senate acts.
