Williamsport Woman Named PennDOT Employee of the Month
Montoursville – Danni Masteller has been named PennDOT District 3-0 Employee of the Month for March 2017.
Masteller is a real estate specialist working in the district Right-of-Way Unit. When PennDOT makes improvements to the transportation network, it may be necessary to acquire additional right-of-way to allow room for these improvements to be constructed. Masteller's primary duty is to negotiate with property owners for the acquisition of this additional right-of-way.
She is an exemplary employee who is dedicated to her work and the right-of-way claimants she serves, demonstrating respect and kindness. She understands the acquisition process and why the property is needed so she can convey that information to property owners in a way that is easily understood. Her primary goal is to ensure that the rights of claimants are respected and no undue hardship is experienced because of a property acquisition.
Following the October 2016 flooding Masteller put in long hours to ensure authorizations from private property owners were secured to allow the department to make the needed emergency repairs. Her efforts and ingenuity allowed the district to perform flood recovery work in timely manner.
Masteller is highly respected by her co-workers. She is down-to-earth, friendly, and has a great sense of humor. She is a team player who is admired for her willingness to do whatever it takes to complete a task or overcome a challenge.
Masteller, a two-year PennDOT employee, lives in Williamsport.
