Great Strides is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's largest fundraising event and provides an opportunity for all to get involved forming teams with friends, family and colleagues. Cystic Fibrosis is a life-threatening genetic disease that affects the respiratory and digestive systems of approximately 30,000 children and adults in the Untied States. It is estimated that more than 10 million Americans are unknowing, symptomless carriers of the defective CF gene.
Through the CF Foundation's efforts and events like Great Strides, as well as the support of generous donors and dedicated volunteers, the life expectancy of a child with CF has doubled in the past 30 years. Today, the search to find a cure is more promising than ever before.
