Man Injured in Motorcyle Accident on Wallis Run Road

MONTOURSVILLE -- A Montoursville man sustained injuries being involved in a motorcycle crash on Wallis Run Road in Eldred Township around 11:43 p.m. March 25, 2017. According to State Police in Montoursville, Brett E. Mitstifer, 33, was traveling north on Wallis Run Road just north of Yeagle Road when his 2003 Harley Davidson Dyna Wide Glide crossed over the southbound side of the roadway and traveled partially off the roadway. This caused the front left of his motorcyle to hit an embankment along the southbound lane of Wallis Run Road. The motorcyle then rolled on its left side and came to rest on the west side of the roadway, with the rear partially in the southbound lane of Wallis Run Road, before rolling on its left side facing northwest.

Mitstifer was transported by Susquehanna Health EMS for treatment of injuries of unknown severity. He was wearing a helmet.

Eldred Township Volunteer Fire Department and Action Towling also was on the scene.

Police said alcohol was believed to be a factor in the crash.
