Loyalsock Township Store Robbed by Man Brandishing a Knife

LOYALSOCK TOWNSHIP -- No one was hurt after an unidentified man brandishing a large knife robbed the Nittany Minit Mart, 1450 E. Third Street, at 10:50 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2017, according to State Police in Montoursville.

The man allegedly entered the minit mart and jumped over the counter in the area of the cash register. He confronted two employees behind the counter, grabbing one while brandishing a large silver bowie-style knife. The man demanded the other employee "grab the drawer money and the lotto money" while holding the knife in the area of the other employee's throat/upper chest. After obtaining the money, the man then jumped back over the counter top and exited the store. He was observed running away on foot. 

Police describe the suspect as being a 6-feet tall, 180 lbs. white male. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black or dark blue jeans, and a black or dark blue bandanna over the lower portion of his face.
