Canton Woman Charged with Misappropriation of Postal Funds
The United States Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania Announced that Lisa Belawske, 53, of Canton, was charged in a criminal information with misappropriation of postal funds by a postal employee.
According to United States Attorney Bruce D. Brandler, the information alleges that Belawske misappropriated more than $12,000 between October 2015 and June 2016. The case was investigated by the U.S. Postal Service, Office of the Inspector General. Assistant U.S. Attorney Sean A. Camoni is prosecuting the case.
Criminal informations are only allegations. All persons charged are presumed to be innocent unless and until found guilty in court. A sentence following find of guilt is imposed by the judge after consideration of the applicable federal sentencing statutes and federal sentencing guidelines. The maximum penalty under federal law for this offense is 10 years of imprisonment, a term of supervised release following imprisonment and a fine.
