Washington, D.C. -- U.S. Representative Tom Marino (PA-10) has invited Bradford County constituent Melinda Piccotti to be his guest at tomorrow evening’s State of the Union address.

In 2009, Mindy founded Hunts for Healing, an organization that promotes spiritual, emotional and physical healing through participation in outdoor programs for wounded warriors and veterans returning from active duty.

“As a veteran and an American, I felt a calling.  I had the ability to open my home and welcome soldiers in need of healing,” Mindy said.  “I am honored Congressman Marino is highlighting the good work being done at Hunts for Healing because community-based organizations like ours are making a difference.”

Before attending the State of the Union address tomorrow night, Mindy and a member of the Congressman’s staff will visit with soldiers at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

“The men and women serving in our armed forces deserve the highest level of honor and respect – not only while they serve but also when they come home.  The sacrifices they and their families make allow each and every one of us to live in a country of such prosperity and freedom,” Marino added.  “Mindy’s work offers soldiers a caring and respectful transition back into everyday life and welcomes all veterans recovering from the scars of war.”
