Thompson Statement on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
January 20, 2014
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson, R-Howard, released the following statement in recognition of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day:
“This nation was founded on the belief that all men are created equal and endowed with certain unalienable rights. Today we celebrate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a man who helped America move that much closer to living ‘out the true meaning of its creed.’
"Almost 50 years since his death, Dr. King’s legacy remains immortal and is a source of inspiration and hope for us all.
“Dr. King once stated that, life's most urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’ Today we reflect on Dr. King’s remarkable life and honor his legacy through acts of service to others.”
