Marino Announces Committee Assignments

Will serve as Vice-Chair of Judiciary Subcommittee on Intellectual Property
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Tom Marino (R-PA) will remain on the Judiciary Committee, Foreign Affairs Committee, and the Homeland Security Committee during the 113th Congress, and has been asked to serve as Vice-Chairman of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Intellectual Property and the Internet. All three committees are under the leadership of a new Chairman and have undergone reorganization.
Rep. Marino will continue in his role on the House Judiciary Committee under new Chairman Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-VA), serving on the Subcommittee on Regulatory Reform, Commercial and Antitrust Law under Subcommittee Chair Rep. Spencer Bachus (AL-6), and as Vice-Chairman of the Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property and the Internet, with Subcommittee Chair Rep. Howard Coble (NC-6).

According to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Pennsylvania is home to more than 2.5 million IP-related jobs and I welcome the opportunity to take a leadership role in ensuring that our nation’s IP laws continue to foster the innovation which leads to high-paying jobs for millions of Americans workers,” said Marino.
Chairman Goodlatte added, “I am pleased to have Congressman Marino serve as Vice Chairman of the IP Subcommittee as well as a member on the Subcommittee on Regulatory Reform, Commercial and Antitrust Law. As an active member of the Judiciary Committee, he consistently brings a wealth of knowledge and new ideas to the table. I look forward to continuing our work together.”
On the House Foreign Affairs Committee Chaired by Representative Ed Royce (R-CA), Marino will serve on the Europe, Eurasia, and Emerging Threats Subcommittee and the Africa, Global Health, Human Rights, and International Organizations Subcommittee.
Representative Michael McCaul (R-TX), Chairman of the Committee on Homeland Security, has assigned Marino again to the Emergency Preparedness, Response and Communications Subcommittee and to the Border and Maritime Security Subcommittee.
