December 21, 2012

MANSFIELD, PA--The Mansfield University Student Chapter of the American String Teachers Association (ASTA) has been named “Outstanding Student Chapter” in the nation for 2013.
Members of the Mansfield chapter and faculty advisor Professor Kenneth Sarch will receive the award at the ASTA national convention being held February 27–March 2 in Providence, RI.
“National recognition of the Mansfield University ASTA student chapter as outstanding chapter for 2013, out of all the student chapters in all the music schools in the country, confirms that our string students are among the finest, most ambitious and enterprising students found anywhere in the United States,” Sarch said. “What our students have achieved brings national recognition to Mansfield University, confirms our commitment to leadership and is nothing short of amazing.”
“Congratulations to Brittany Hendler, ASTA President of our chapter, and to all the ASTA members who have worked so hard to make their chapter vital, successful and productive and to my colleague Jeff Jacobsen, who also contributes so much to our string program," Sarch added.
The MU Chapter was named “The Most Improved Student Chapter” in the nation by ASTA in 2011.
