BREAKING: Pro hockey comes to Williamsport

At an afternoon press conference in front of Bowman Field Williamsport Mayor Gabe Campana announced that Bowman Field will have an ice hockey rink installed in October to accomodate not only community skating but a professional hockey team the Williamsport Outlaws.

The Outlaws played last year as the New Jersey Outlaws and have re-located to Williamsport for the 2012-2013 Federal Hockey League season. They are also the defending Federal Hockey League Champions.

The home and season opener to be played at Bowman Field against Dayton Devils is scheduled for Wednesday, October 24, 2012 with the puck dropping at 7:05 p.m.
