MU Receives Middle States Accreditation
MANSFIELD, PA— Mansfield University has been re-accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
The accreditation applies to all areas of the University, from the classroom to academic support to student activities and residential life. Self-study evaluations are conducted every 10 years.
Committees composed of more than 70 faculty, staff, students and administrators worked for more than two years preparing a 115-page self-study report in advance of a three-day visit from a Middle States evaluation team last March.
In making the announcement, Interim President Allan Golden said, “These are exciting and productive times for Mansfield University, and the Commission’s letter of accreditation is affirmation of this.”
The Middle States Commission on Higher Education is a voluntary, non-governmental, membership association that defines, maintains and promotes educational excellence across institutions with diverse missions, student populations and resources. The commission is dedicated to quality assurance and improvement through accreditation via peer evaluation.
Middle States accreditation instills public confidence in institutional mission, goals, performance and resources through its rigorous accreditation standards and their enforcement.
