USCAA softball partners with ESPN Williamsport

ESPN Radio to Broadcast 2012 USCAA Softball National Championships in Akron, Ohio
Newport News, VA – ESPN Radio Williamsport 104.1 FM and 1050 AM have again partnered with Penn State-Beaver and the USCAA to broadcast the 2012 USCAA Softball National Championship. The tournament will be held in Akron, Ohio and will be played at Firestone Stadium, home of the professional softball team, the Akron Racers.
All games being played on Field One will be broadcast with a play-by-play announcer. The championship game and the third place game will also feature a color analyst. The ESPN Radio stream can found here. Also, fans can download a free app for their mobile device by clicking this link.
"Having the great experience in Akron last year with Joey Arrietta, Matt Simms and Andy Kirschner we are even more eager to see what this year's championship tournament has in-store," said Todd Bartley, General Manager, ESPN Radio Williamsport. The eight team double elimination tournament will begin this Tuesday morning, with the first pitch slated for 10:00 am est. The tournament will conclude on Thursday with the championship game scheduled to begin at 12:00 pm est.
ESPN Radio Williamsport is currently home to the athletics programs at Penn College, Lycoming College, Mansfield University, Misericordia University and Wilkes University. Also serving as the flagship station of the Williamsport Crosscutters Radio Network, the New York-Penn League affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. Recently, ESPN Radio Williamsport was recognized by the Pennsylvania Associated Press Broadcasters Association (PAPBA) for the "Best Play-by-Play" (Todd Bartley, first place), (Trevor Turner, third place) in a medium market as well as "Best Sportscast" (Trevor Turner, first place) in a medium market.
