December 15, 2011

MANSFIELD, PA—The Mansfield University Council of Trustees honored President Maravene Loeschke at their regular bi-monthly meeting on Thursday, December 15.
This was Loeschke’s last meeting before leaving MU to become president of her alma mater, Towson University, after Commencement on Saturday, December 17.
Ralph Meyer, chair of the Council of Trustees, introduced a resolution praising Loeschke and her husband Richard Gillespie for their efforts on behalf of the university and the greater Mansfield community during her five years as president.
In conclusion, the resolution reads, “Therefore be it resolved on this 15th day of December 2011 that the Council of Trustees hereby expresses on behalf of the entire Mansfield campus community, its sincere appreciation to Dr. Maravene Loeschke and Dr. Richard Gillespie for their exemplary service and extraordinary contributions to Mansfield University and wish them well in their future endeavors.”
“It has been a privilege to serve here with all of you at Mansfield,” Loeschke said. “In particular, it has been a pleasure to serve with people with whom there is never any question when it comes to putting the needs of the students first. That is always what it is all about.”
