Last year’s Evangelical Gala raised over $90,000 for nursing scholarships. The 2013 Gala is set to raise funds for the launch of a comprehensive diabetes program.

The Evangelical Gala, Evangelical Community Hospital’s premier fundraising event, will take place on Saturday, March 9 at Larison Hall on the campus of Bucknell University. The Gala begins with a 5:30 pm cocktail hour and a silent auction, followed by dinner, dancing and a live auction. more»

Evangelical Community Hospital employees and volunteers wore red on Friday, February 1, 2013 to show their support of heart health awareness, prevention, and treatment in honor of American Heart Month. Cardiovascular disease is the number one killer in the United States, causing 2,200 deaths each day. Wearing red was an outward sign of Evan’s employees that heart health is important in fighting cardiovascular disease.

Throughout the month of February, Evangelical will be holding events and screenings addressing heart health as part of its Rock Red for Healthy Hearts initiative. All of the events are open to the public and community members are encouraged to take part in the free and low-cost screenings that are part of Rock Red. more»

Isabel L. Baran, 96, of Division Road, died Sunday, February, 3, 2013 at her home with her family at her bedside.

Born July, 18, 1916 in Shamokin, she was a daughter of the late Vincent and Mary (Golden) Pasukinis.

She married Paul Baran, and spent 31 wonderful years together until his passing November 23, 1969. more»

Family Place at Evangelical Gives Birth to New Surroundings

Renovations will begin mid-December at The Family Place, Evangelical Community Hospital’s obstetrics unit. The Family Place renovations will include upgrades to patient rooms, the nursery, labor and delivery suite, family waiting room, as well as throughout the common areas.  more»

The SEDA-COG Joint Rail Authority is planning to construct a new $14 million railroad bridge, seen in the background of this photo of the Loyalsock Bridge. It will be the topic of a public meeting on November 20. Details and a schematic drawing of the bridge are attached at the bottom of this article.

Plans to reconstruct the SEDA-COG Joint Rail Authority’s Loyalsock Creek Bridge will be presented and discussed at a public meeting in Montoursville on Tuesday, November 20. The original bridge, located between the Borough and Williamsport, was heavily damaged during last year’s flood resulting from Tropical Storm Lee. more»
