                4-Hers everywhere know the 4-H pledge by heart. It’s an important thing to know, but it’s even more important to live by. The pledge tells us to do four things, pledge our heads to clearer thinking, our hearts to greater loyalty, our hands to larger service, and our health to better living. more»

The end of the school year is near and there's a lot going on!  Spring soccer had just started, our first game being the same day as my prom, SAT, and livestock weigh-in, this weekend!!  What a day that will be! more»

Finally, after a rather hectic month, our well rehearsed play brought in a great audience, the ranch is getting back to it's accustomed time, school is going well, and further plans are being made!  Soon, our 4-H kickoff with an Earth Day theme will be around and I expect a lot of fun and people interested in the 4-H program as we show off what we've got! more»

March has been an exciting month for 4-H.  One of the interesting events I got to attend was the Extension Capitol Day.   I arrived with members of my county delegation which were all part of the Extension Agency.  I got the chance to talk to several Senators and Representatives about the importance of the Extension Program.  I believe it was good for many to recognize the impact the extensi more»

This weekend, my dad asked me if I’d help him with a job. Aside from his actual work, he hauls animals or equipment for others.  Normally, when he asks me to go, we take a horse to a different barn. Well, this trip was definitely not a normal delivery! We were to pick up a miniature donkey from an Amish farm, and take it to a birthday party at a restaurant in the city of Boardman, Ohio. more»

One thing that I love about living on a farm is that you never know whats going to happen next.  Even though there might be a plain in place the animals or the equipment might make a change, or some chances, within the plains. more»

So much starting up this month!  Along with the State Capital Days just getting over, spring soccer will start soon, play practice, swine raising, horse breaking, and marching band will begin!  It's almost like summer is just racing to get up on us, as if spring isn't coming fast enough. more»

Engaging in volunteer work is crucial to be able to develop into a well-rounded citizen. Volunteering builds character and gives you a real purpose to life. In my school, there are many ways to give back to the community by joining one of the many student-led community service organizations. more»

The new year has started off with the always fabulous Pennsylvania State Farm Show where we got to meet a lot of new people and do many things! more»

I can absolutely not believe that January is already over. I feel like it was just Christmas and New Years; but that's a whole month away now! I hope that all of the state 4-Her's had a blast at the Pennsylvania Farm Show, and of course, at SLC because I know that the state council sure did. Hopefully, everyone is getting ready to attend Capital Days! more»

CRAZY!  That’s how I’d like to describe this past month.  With so many events, deadlines, dates, and so much to do… this month has been packed!  Of course though, this month has been crazy in a good kind of way! more»

Its hard to believe that it has been a month since Farm Show.  Even though it seemed like the only thing that we were doing was running around the entire complex or helping at the BBQ booth I enjoyed my time in Harrisburg.  I would say the most memorable part was working at the Hess' BBQ booth (no relation) and raising money for 4-H with my fellow council members. more»

First and foremost, I hope everyone had a delightful holiday season and enjoyed the much needed break from school! I know I surely benefited having some time off and time to relax. more»

January is going to be one exciting month! Not only does it include the start to the new year and everyones resoultions, but also the Pennsylvania Farm Show and State Leadership Conference! I absolutely cannot wait for the Farm Show. I not only get to be there for State Council, but I will be showing as well! more»

Looking back at the year of 2012, a lot of interesting things have happened and many friends have been made, including those that I am so thankful to have on State Council!  I have reflected on the other past events and how they might influence this upcoming year, to which, I am looking forward to with enthusiasm! more»

I’m currently in my senior year of high school, and I’m finally aware of how different everything will be after 2013 comes to a close.
