Evangelical Community Hospital employees and volunteers wore red on Friday, February 1, 2013 to show their support of heart health awareness, prevention, and treatment in honor of American Heart Month. Cardiovascular disease is the number one killer in the United States, causing 2,200 deaths each day. Wearing red was an outward sign of Evan’s employees that heart health is important in fighting cardiovascular disease.

Throughout the month of February, Evangelical will be holding events and screenings addressing heart health as part of its Rock Red for Healthy Hearts initiative. Annually a tree in front of the Hospital is decorated in honor and memory of loved ones. This is the 25th Annual Lights of Love event held by Evangelical Community Hospital Auxiliary to benefit Evangelical Hospice. The tree stays lit through the end of December.

Evangelical Community Hospital will be hosting the 25th Annual Lights of Love Ceremony on Sunday, December 2 at 4 pm in the Hospital’s Dining Room, with entertainment by the Buffalo Valley Singers, and concluding with the lighting of the Lights of Love tree outside of the main entrance.
