Route 118 Rock Blasting Over; Cleanup Continues

The blasting shot went off at 1 p.m. this afternoon at the bridge project along Route 118, two miles east of Lairdsville in Lycoming County.

The road was opened to one lane at 1:30 p.m.

The contractor expects to be working well into the evening hours to clear the other lane. One lane will be maintained by flaggers until all is clear. more»

UPDATE: Tues. March 1:  Blasting is expected to take place around the noon hour today at the bridge project along Route 118 east of Lairdsville. Motorists can expect delays around that time.

Douglas Explosives, Inc. will be on-site at the Route 118 bridge project east of Lairdsville on Tuesday, Feb. 22 to commence drilling operations. more»
