Trailer Fire Reported on Route 15

The blaze was brought quickly under control following a trailer fire in Lycoming County. Area emergency personnel responded to an area on Route 15 near B & C junkyard shortly before 11 a.m. today for a trailer hauling construction equipment which caught on fire. No injuries were reported.

Montoursville - Additional deterioration resulting from advanced age is prompting PennDOT to place a weight restriction on the green truss carrying Route 973 over Lycoming Creek near Perryville.

The bridge, just east of Route 15 in Lycoming Township, Lycoming County is being posted with a 35-ton limit. In addition, the bridge is already limited to one truck crossing at a time. more»

Rehabilitated Historic Silver Bridge near Jersey Shore Opens to Traffic

Montoursville - Following a three-year restoration project, the historic Silver Bridge carrying River Road over Pine Creek near Jersey Shore is reopened to traffic.

Prior to its closure in 2007 and subsequent removal for rehabilitation, the bridge was weight-restricted with a 7-ton limit. The rehabilitated lenticular truss is capable of carrying legal-sized loads. more»

Montoursville - Route 2001 (Elimsport Road) in Brady Township, Lycoming County is closed once again due to flooding approximately two miles west of Route 15.

Traffic may detour via Routes 554, 44 and 15.

The road will remain closed until the floodwaters recede and the road is safe for travel.

10:45 a.m. UPDATE:  I-180 WB closure at Williamsport is now a lane restriction.  The right lane westbound remains closed for crash cleanup operations and is expected to remain closed until late this afternoon.  Motorists are advised to be alert for slow-moving or stopped traffic well ahead of the crash site.

Flood Recovery Work at Various Bridge Sites in Sullivan County

Montoursville - Minichi Contracting Group, Inc. will begin emergency flood repair work on various state routes in Sullivan County on Wednesday, Nov. 30.

Work will include debris and deposition removal as well as placement of rock for stream bank protection at 13 bridge sites along nine routes.

The unofficial low bid of $1,794,066 was submitted by G. A. & F. C. Wagman, Inc.

Starting this Friday morning at 7 a.m., the ramp for Route 220 northbound to Route 15 northbound will be closed and traffic detoured to the Maynard Street Interchange of I-180. more»
