Motorcyclist seriously injured in crash

A motorcyclist was seriously injured following a crash on July 25.

According to state police, Mitch Logue, 22, of DuBoistown, was traveling east on Route 654 at 5:22 p.m. while a vehicle driven by Patrick Keefe, 40, of Broadway, Virginia, was traveling east, attempting to turn into a driveway. Logue's bike hit Keefe's vehicle as he was making the turn.  more»

A 16-year-old Muncy girl is facing juvenile charges for threatening a 15-year-old Hughesville female because she reported a 22-year-old man for rape, state police said.

According to police, a vehicle driven by Melvin Walters, 67, of Hughesville, was traveling diagonally across the northbound lane of Blockhouse road and swerved left directly in front of a vehicle driven by Travis Chapin, 43, of Blossburg.  more»

When state police Montoursville investigated an incident at Big Dogs Bar, 5010 Route 220, Wolf Township, they found a fugitive. 

Police ran a background check on Anthony Hoppe, 33, of Pittsburgh, and found an active warrant out of the Pittsburgh area. Hoppe was in the area with the county fair.  more»

Body Found in Loyalsock Creek Identified by Coroner

A body found floating this morning (Monday, July 14, 2014) in Loyalsock Creek near Sandy Bottom has been identified.

Lycoming Coroner Charles Keissling announced that a 54 year old man, Richard Kowker, from Schnecksville, PA, apparently slipped and fell striking his head and landed in Loyalsock Creek which lead to his drowning. The investigation is ongoing. more»

A Texas woman was struck by a vehicle and killed on Little Pine Creek Road in Waterville at 11:05 p.m. July 7. 

According to state police reports, Theresa R. Craft, 45, of Schulenberg, Texas, was sitting in the middle of the road for an unknown reason when she was hit by a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by Tamala Cornelius, 47, of Linden.  more»

Tioga man killed in crash

A Tioga man was killed in a crash at 8:40 p.m. July 1. 

Richard Smith, 75, of Tioga, was traveling west on Ridge Road when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole, state police Mansfield reported. 

Smith was flown to Robert Packer Hospital where he died from internal injuries.

Cabin broken into and vandalized and other incidents

Unknown actors broke into and vandalized a cabin in Cummings Township between May 1 and June 6, according to state police. 

Approximately $100 worth of clothing was missing and $1000 worth of damage was done to the cabin, reports said.

Motorcycle crash near Montgomery claims 2 lives

Wednesday evening, at 9:40 PM, Clinton Township EMS got a call for a "motorcyclist down" on Route 405 just northeast of Montgomery Borough, near the jersey Shore State bank office. When the first crews arrived their tone turned somber as they requested the County Coroner be called for 2 victims of the crash. Pa State Police was also called to the scene, to do an investigation. more»

Man injured in motorcycle crash

A Hughesville man was injured in a motorcycle crash at  2:15 p.m. June 17, state police said. 

Nathan Kepner, 32, was traveling on Maple Lane in Wolf Township when he lost control of his motorcycle, causing it to overturn and land on its side in the center of the eastbound lane. Police cited animal in the roadway as the cause of the accident.  more»

Bear in road causes crash

A crash occured at 11:05 p.m. June 14 when a bear entered Route 220 in Woodward Township in front of a vehicle driven by Ahmad Ahad, 37, of Lock Haven, according to state police. 

The vehicle struck the bear and pulled onto the north berm of the roadway. The deceased bear fell on the side of the roadway.

No one was injured during the crash as a result of the crash.  more»

According to Pa State Trooper Havens, a shooting occured Sunday morning around 2 A.M. at 424 Weldon St., Montoursville. The PSP report states that a birthday party was being held at that location. The victim, Cody Gorsline, a white 24 year old male from Williamsport, was examining a handgun with the person who was having a birthday, when the weapon went off. more»

Car rolls on roof in Eldred Township crash

A car driven by Amber Bower, 19, of Cogan Station, rolled onto its roof after the vehicle left Pleasant Valley Road in Eldred Township and struck a tree on June 8, according to state police. 

As the vehicle was rolling, it struck some trees and a utility pole. The vehicle came to rest with its roof and hood up against the trees and pole, facing north.  more»

A 17-year-old female was seriously injured in a May 10 crash. 

According to state police, the minor was traveling south on Cleman Hollow Road in Franklin Township on a Suzuki 230 Shaft motorcyle. The bike attempted to negotiate a right hand curve in the roadway and was traveling too fast, causing it to travel off the left side of the road and strike a tree.  more»

A crash occured at 2:30 a.m. May 18 as a vehicle driven by Michael Klacik III, 44, of Avis, was traveling south on Route 973 when the vehicle exited the roadway and traveled across a drainage ditch, according to state police. 

Klacik's vehicle stuck a tree and traveled another 25 feet before hitting an embankment. 

Klacik was uninjured.

Todd Mack, 22, of Williamsport, was traveling west in his vehicle at 2:40 a.m. June 2 on Route 54 in Clinton Township when he lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a left curve in the roadway, state police reported. 

Mack's vehicle traveled off the north shoulder of the road and impacted a tree head on. The vehicle spun clockwise before coming to final rest.  more»

Nathan Edward Fry, 22, and Brooks Alexander Borgess, 24, entered an apatment on Clayton Avenue in Loyalsock Township without permission and proceeded to ingest heroin, according to state police. 

They were found by the tenant who contacted 911 when he found Borgess unresponsive. Numerous items of drug paraphernalia belonging to Borgess and Fry were located in the apartment.  more»
