Williamsport’s First Friday: March 2010

March 1, 2010

WILLIAMSPORT -- First Friday in Downtown Williamsport promises to be a festive event as spring-like temperatures have been forecast. In addition to restaurants, galleries and shops in the center city area, many artists are now residing at the Pajama Factory on Rose Street near Historic Bowman Field.

Downtown Williamsport, surrounded by two colleges and a Victorian Historic District, is becoming an Old City Cultural District. Home to several galleries, five goldsmiths, a children’s museum, a historic museum, a historic hotel, antique and design stores, bookstores, a micro brewery, great restaurants and music clubs, a bounty of  historic structures, three libraries and four theaters, one of which is the beautiful Community Arts Center. Williamsport is evolving into the cultural center of Northcentral Pennsylvania.

Trolley stops are available at Eagle Rock Winery (The Pajama Factory), Lycoming County Visitors Center, DiSalvo’s Italian Restaurant, James V. Brown Library, Community Arts Center / Woodlands Bank and the Peter Herdic House.
