Tourney Tallies Over $60,000
Thanks to sponsorships from area businesses and community members, the 29th Annual Susquehanna Health Invitational Golf Tournament raised more than $62,000 to enhance regional healthcare.
On Aug. 16 at the Williamsport Country Club, 112 golfers participated in the tournament to benefit programs and services offered by Susquehanna Health.
Proceeds from this year’s tournament will help purchase a mobile health unit for Susquehanna Health’s The WorkCenter.
The Work Center offers hearing tests, medical surveillance, physical exams and other healthcare services to companies at their work locations. With the purchase of the new mobile unit, The WorkCenter will be able to provide services to more than 100 local companies and approximately 4,000 of their employees.
The 2010 Susquehanna Health Invitational Golf Tournament committee included chairman Larry Allison and committee members Sam Aloisio, Donna Bastian, Cheryl Chapman, Tony DiSalvo, Brent Fish, Mary Ann Johnson and Beth Schluter. Sue Everett, Chuck Myers, Valerie Trego and Sherry Watts served as volunteers for the event.
The first Susquehanna Health Invitational Golf Tournament was held in 1981. Since the inaugural event, the annual tournament has raised more than $1,135,000.
