PSP Releases details on Thursday night's Route 44 S & Route 654 crash
Pennsylvania State Police, Montoursville, have released details on Thursday night's head on crash.
According to the report, the accident happened Thursday evening around 9:15 PM at the intersection of South Route 44 and Route 654 in Limestone Township. A Dodge Ram Van, driven by Gary Weimer, 69 years old, of Mill Hall, was traveling south on Route 44 when it was hit head on by a Toyota Rav 4 driven by Benjamin Davis, Jr.,49, of Williamsport. Davis reportedly pulled out from Route 654 and turned right onto Route 44, striking the Dodge Van head on.
Davine Coney, 38, of Williamsport, a passenger in the Toyota and Weimer both suffered major injuries. They were first brought to the Williamsport Medical Center, then transferred to Geisinger, Danville. No Life Flight transports were available at the time of the accident.
Davis was also injured, but not severely. He has been taken into custody for Driving Under the Influence. Davis was also charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault by vehicle, two counts of recklessly endangering another person and several summary traffic offenses. Davis was arragined and placed in the Lycoming County Prison on $50,000 bail.
