The Williamsport Crosscutters will once again be hosting a FREE Aquafina© Major League Baseball® PITCH, HIT&RUN™ competition.  The event will be held on Saturday, April 30 at Bowman Field, W. Fourth St., Williamsport.

Again this year, boys and girls will compete separately.  The boy’s baseball competition will begin at 10am with registration opening at 9 a.m.  The girls’ softball competition will begin at 1pm with registration starting at noon.  This is the only PITCH, HIT&RUN™ qualifying competition scheduled for this area.

PITCH, HIT&RUN™ is the Official Skills Competition of Major League Baseball.  This grassroots program is designed to provide youngsters with an opportunity to compete, free of charge, in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball and softball skills.

Competitors are divided into four age divisions: 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14 and have the chance to advance through four levels of competition, including Team Championships at Major League ballparks and the National Finals at the 2011 MLB™ All-Star Game®.

Up to 32 local contestants (16 boys & 16 girls) can advance to the next round.  The individual Pitching, Hitting and Running Champions, along with the All-Around Champion in each age group from the qualifying competitions at Bowman Field will advance to the next level of competition.

Bats and balls will be provided and metal spikes are prohibited.  All participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate and a registration/waiver form must be completed by parents prior to the start of competition.  Registration will be held only on the day of the event at Bowman Field.
