'A Night of Spoken Word' continues on in February

January 30, 2013

Season two of Spoken Word started back in October 2012 and continues to grow, change, develop and bring new talent to the stage.

"You almost never know what to expect. One month, Spoken Word featured a lot of talented authors, the next it had some upbeat comedic themes. It's nice to see the diverse talent that walks through the door each month," said Converge Gallery owner, John Yogodzinski.

The Converge Gallery and MC Tristan Lee will host another night of Spoken Word from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8.

Spoken word has a simple setup: we turn on the mic and ask those interested in reading poetry, prose, free style verse, dramatic readings, stand up comedy and more keep it under 5 minutes.

The event is open to the public and those interested in participating on stage are asked to arrive at 6:30 p.m. so that a running order can be established.

All are welcome even if you just want to listen rather than participate. Assorted refreshments including teas, coffee, and hot chocolate will be provided for only $1 per cup.

Come out and speak your talents!
