Newberry Park Spring Festival Set
The 2nd Annual Spring Festival and Flea Market will be held in Newberry Park on Saturday, May 5th, 8:00 AM TO 3:00 PM.
Sponsored by the Newberry Community Partnership, the event is an NCP fundraiser to support neighborhood revitalization and promote community pride and participation.
The day begins at 8:00 AM with a Flea Market. Vendors will be offering everything from crafts, jewelry, yard sale bargains & collectibles.
At 11:00 am the Newberry Lions hold a brief ceremony to dedicate a newly planted tree and marker to honor Newberry’s own LCpl. Abram Howard.
Three popular local bands – The Nobody’s, City Limits and Flipside will keep things moving with good old rock & roll and country sounds throughout the day.
Come Visit Inside Newberry. Lycoming County Genealogical Society and Newberrians will display their collections of Newberry photos; Help locate an ancestor, start a family tree and scan treasured documents. Bring your Newberry pictures, scrapbooks and memorabilia to share.
Fun and Games through out the day: Play Bocce! Newberry native and former mayor Phil Preziosi will be on hand with equipment, official rules and instructions.
Games and activities for the youngsters include. Brodart’s Spin to Win a Book, toilet toss, face painting and origami with Jackson School Art Club & more. Games of chance will have some grownups leaving with a smile – win or lose – knowing that they did their part in supporting the Newberry Community Partnership.
You won’t go hungry with The Newberry Lions famous French fries, Italian fare prepared by The Original Sons of Italy Lodge138, guest chefs grilling juicy hot dogs and neighbors serving ice cream to pacify your sweet tooth.
Educational and safety information booths include members of City Police and Fire departments, Williamsport Citizens Corp Council, STEP Inc, AmeriCorps and PSU Williamsport Center. The Lycoming County SPCA will feature Pets on Parade & Doggie Olympics.
The Newberry Park Fair Grounds is located off Linn Street between Diamond and Pearl Street (behind Sanders Funeral Home).

Newberry Community Partnership Information:
The Newberry Community Partnership, established in 2006 is one of only forty organizations in the State to qualify for Elm Street designation. The NCP is responsible for many neighborhood events such as block Parties, tree plantings, bi-annual litter pick ups, Business Showcase & Community Yard Sales. The Elm Street Program is responsible for the new street-scape and lights at the W. Fourth St. gateway to Newberry. We’ve completed four W. 4th Street façade improvements. Work on a fifth facade will begin early summer. The NCP, with its non-profit status and track record is positioned to attract private and public resources. With your support and participation, we can keep the momentum going to create a bright future for our community.
The Newberry Community Partnership is a non-profit community service organization registered with the IRS as a 501C (3).
