Mayor Campana announces another City Public Safety Infrastructure Plan

Mayor Campana is announcing another City Public Safety Infrastructure Plan.  In the past two weeks, Campana has prioritized projects by announcing the implementation of the Grafius Run Mitigation Project and the Lights on Plan.

The latest plan below is the Bowman Field Safety Plan.  This plan will be announced at the Public Works Committee on August 26, 2014 at noon.

Improvements will be made to broken concrete in the box seat area, expansion to the cramped entrance concourse area, replacement of rusty fencing, and installation of netting to protect families from baseballs.

A total of $300,000 was authorized with bank financing by City Council for improvements.  The administration has prioritized the improvements.  One hundred and fifty thousand was already spent on the roof replacement with a remaining $150,000 recommended for the above new public safety aspects.

“It is imperative to ensure that Susquehanna Bank Park at Historic Bowman Field is a safe place for recreational opportunities for our youth and that we continue to maintain a minor baseball presence. This proposed improvement  fulfill these objectives.”
