Karey Dean Photography, 2055 Kenwood Ave., is now open in Williamsport.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony took place at 11 a.m. Feb. 5 and Maseto’s Deli and 6 Pack, 2075 Kenwood Ave., catered the event. In attendance were owner Karey Dean and her husband, Lyle, Jason Fink, executive vice president of the Lycoming Chamber of Commerce, and Erik Houser with State Sen. Gene Yaw’s office.

Dean has been involved with photography for about four years. She shoots wedding and takes all varieties of portraits, though her main focus is on child and newborn photography.

Dean explained why she enjoys photography, “I like the challenge of the little ones, and just capturing everybody’s personality,” she added.

Originally from Clearfield, she came to Williamsport to work for Susquehanna Health System. New to professional photography, Dean said she decided to make her own business a reality. By opening up the studio, she made her business official.

“I'm excited to have the option to offer sessions in the studio space in addition to on-location,” Dean said.
