Hughesville Spartans Win Basketball Districts; Face Holy Cross Next Saturday

The Hughesville boys basketball team won the District IV Class AA title Saturday afternoon, 36-33 over Central Columbia at Danville. Now bound for state tournament—their sixth consecutive showing—the Spartans will face Holy Cross on Saturday, 3 p.m. at Montoursville High School. Tied with just six seconds left in the fourth quarter, Dylan Lesher dropped a 3-point basket at the sound of the buzzer (see video clip by Geri Schnure)
