Emergency Flood Repair Contract Starts on Two Lycoming County Routes

A contractor began removal of the sections of roadway on Chippewa Road in Muncy Creek Townshipthat were destroyed by the flood last month.

Montoursville - An emergency flood-recovery contract started today on Route 2055 (Chippewa Road) in Muncy and Route 2085 (Edkin Hill Road) in Shrewsbury Township in Lycoming County.

At both locations the contractor will remove the sections of roadway that were destroyed by the flood and reconstruct them. The roadways will be rebuilt like they were before the flood, with new blacktop and new guiderail.

The $259,704 project by prime contractor Robert C. Young, Inc. should be completed in mid-November.
