By Bridget Stevens, Susquehanna Health
July 14, 2012
The Eastern Lycoming YMCA, Muncy, will host a combined group event for the Susquehanna Striders and Silver Sneakers Friday, July 20. The two groups will come together for the first time to exercise, socialize and enjoy a healthy lunch.
Susquehanna Striders was established in 1996 by Susquehanna Health’s LifeCenter. Currently, about 550 Striders log miles and earn incentives and health benefits through membership in this free, community-wide walking program. Additional information and registration is available online at SusquehannaHealth.org/Striders and at The LifeCenterTM, located in the Bon-Ton/JC Penney wing of Lycoming Mall.
Silver Sneakers is a program provided by the YMCA to help seniors live a healthier lifestyle through physical activities and social events. About 60 seniors participate in the Muscular Strength and Range of Motion (MSROM) class held Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Eastern Lycoming YMCA. Information on the Silver Sneakers program is available at the ELYMCA information desk or online at ELYMCA.org.
