Details for the annual corvette show in Muncy were discussed during last Thursday’s monthly meeting of the Muncy Professional and Business Association.

The organization has successfully partnered with the Susquehanna Valley Corvette Club to display nearly 150 cars on Saturday, Sept. 17, as the “Fourth Annual Corvette Show/Artists in Our Own Backyard” festival begins.

Additionally, the event is sponsored by Blaise Alexander Chevrolet, Muncy Bank & Trust, KISS FM, and McCain Industrial Services; trophies from 11 categories are awarded at 3 p.m. A $13 registration fee is required from 9-11 a.m., the day of the show; all proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.

Events kick off at 10 a.m. in the downtown business district and last until 4 p.m. Main Street, from the Penn Street traffic light to the Brelsford Motor Company will be closed to through traffic, Christopher Johnson of the MPBA said.

And if sports cars are not appealing enough, other areas of interest are available. Area artisans will showcase their talents scattered amid the designated block, along with food vendors and musical entertainment.  Additionally, a children’s activity area is being planned on South Market Street, which will also be cordoned off from traffic.
