College Plans Annual Medieval Fair

March 30, 2010

WILLIAMSPORT -- Lycoming College will host its second annual Medieval Lyco historical festival from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 11 in the lower floor of the college's Wendle Hall, 700 College Place.

Medieval Lyco was designed by the college's History Club as an opportunity for students and the surrounding community to interact, while learning about and experiencing the Renaissance and Medieval periods. Working with a number of other student organizations, the club promises a fun and educational experience for all.

Featuring period-themed demonstrations and entertainment, the event will include attractions such as acrobats, period musicians, a magician, fire-eater, Medieval weapons expert, blacksmith and a live pony. Additional activity booths, created by students, will be on-site.

An optional meal, which will include vegetable soup in a bread bowl, chicken drumsticks and wassail, will be served from 1 to 2:45 p.m.

Admission will be $2 for adults and $1 for children. The cost for the meal will be $3 for non-students.
