Calling All Ping Pong Players!

Ping Pong Parlor Participants

Want to dust off that old ping pong paddle you stored away in your basement or attic? Want to see if that talent you had as a kid, in the armed services, or in college is still there? Want to get some exercise and meet some real table tennis nuts?

Then come on Friday evenings, beginning around 6:30 p.m., to Callie Hall, at the back of the old St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, at 912 Almond Street, in Williamsport’s east side, not far from the Faxon Bowling Lanes. You’ll find three quality tables set up for you.

Participants vary in age and ability, from a rated 1700-level young player (a man who works at Williamsport Hospital) to an 80-year-old still with a passion for the game. What has been lacking, and is desired, are some female players.

If you are interested, then either just show up or call Chet Beaver at 570-547-1444. Play continues until well into the evening, depending on attendance, or until all players drop from exhaustion. It’s FREE, balls are provided, there’s a refrigerator if you want to bring a cold drink, and parking is available in a lot directly across from the hall in the alley of Almond Street.
