Breaking News: Plane crashes, kills three in Lock Haven

LOCK HAVEN -- Three people are dead after their airplane crashed during approach of the William T. Piper Memorial Airport around 1 p.m. It struck the roof of Don and Shu Yaun Probst's home at 709 E. Church St., crashed and burst into flames.

One home and three vehicles were damaged. No one on the ground was hurt.

Lock Haven's fire chief has not released the names of the three victims, which may have been chartered by
the state forest service. State forestry officials have not confirmed that information.

According to officials, the single -propeller Cessna's pilot called by radio to the tower for information about landing and fuel. No distress calls were made.
